Visit to the Aston Martin restorer

The Aston Martin EML 132 has an unflattering nickname: "Donald Duck". Norbert Hieber from Munich has been restoring it for 25 years.
For him, the car is not just a hobby - it is his pension plan.

Vintage car restoration Donald on his last journey

There are seven vintage Aston Martin cars in Norbert Hieber's showroom. He has restored them all himself. But he doesn't show
his greatest treasure to just anyone. A one-off that was crucial to the development of the British car company.

All data was kept secret

Gordon Sutherland sold the car in 1942 and, after a few changes of ownership, its trail was lost at the end of the 1950s.

There is hardly any information available; all data on prototypes from these years was kept secret. In the mid-1980s, a German antiques dealer from Paderborn discovers the car in a barn. He initially wanted to restore it himself, but when he bought a country estate at the
same time, he ran out of money. In 1989, he sold it to Norbert Hieber.

Neither of them knows where the car spent the decades before that.
